Visit your assigned classroom and ask for samples of the written work of at least two children in mathematics. How would you assess the children’s understanding based on that written work? Please add samples of this. How does the teacher assess children’s mathematics understanding and achievement?
The first student has been able to grasp the idea that two blocks of 100 single cubes equals 200 while the second students seems to be struggling with the idea. Both students have been able to master the place value of tens and ones.
Once again, the first student shows an understanding in the material, capable of adding the objects and understanding a concept of multiplication. The second student seems to be grasping the idea, however they are not quite there (note first problem).
